Potential Disruption to District Heating - repairs ongoing
Fri Jan 6 2023 - 16:35:53

We have been made aware of an issue with the district heating, which the Estates teams will be working on over the weekend.  While our teams are working to fix the problem there may be some temporary fluctuations in heating provision on Campus West.

We are working hard to restore any temporary heating loss as soon as possible, with work continuing over the weekend.  Thank you for your understanding.

Repairs ongoing
Mon Jan 9 2023 - 09:28:37

A patch repair has been implemented, and preparatory work for a long term repair is being carried out over the early part of this week.

We do not expect this temporary fix to cause any disruption to heating or hot water supplies.  Once this is completed we will then begin a permanent repair.

Thank you for your understanding.

Temporary loss of heating - 10 January 10am to 4pm
Mon Jan 9 2023 - 14:38:59

Following investigative works on the District Heating, we have identified a need to isolate the heating to Campus West tomorrow, Tuesday 10 January between 10am and 4pm to allow for a section of pipework to be removed and replaced.

The time period chosen will allow our buildings to heat up in the morning and be reinstated for late afternoon.  The ambient temperature is forecast for 13 degrees centigrade, so we hope to avoid any major disruption.

If you need additional heating, temporary heaters can be requested from the Facilities Helpdesk.

Hot water will not be affected.  Thank you for your ongoing patience as these works take place.

Repair completed
Wed Jan 11 2023 - 10:58:41

The repair has been completed as scheduled and the district heating returned to service.  Additional works will continue in the area for the next few months, but we do not anticipate that this will affect campus users.
