Following works by Yorkshire Water, the water main connection to Chemistry failed early in the hours of 10 March 2023. This has resulted in a loss of mains water to Chemistry and surface water on University Road.

Yorkshire Water have a task team currently on site working on a repair. We will continue to post updates here.

Water discolouration

Campus users may notice some discoloured surface water around the leak area.  The leak is cold mains water but due to its volume and the recent weather it has been coloured by silt, sand and mud as it runs towards the lake.  Our Grounds team have investigated and are satisfied that the lake has not been contaminated by this event. A clean up of the area has been organised.
