Update: The opening date for the new lift has now been put back to Friday 9th August as the engineers wait on a delivery of essential supplies. Thank you for your continued patience.
From Monday 24 June for around six weeks, the lift from University Road to the library bridge (giving access to the library) will be closed for essential work. The work will replace the lift and improve its reliability for those who need it. The bridge and ramp will remain open.
A level diversion has been put in place (s6ee link below) however, due to the different heights across campus, it is quite long. We would advise anyone with mobility issues requiring access to the library from a car to use the car park at the rear of the library (Car Park 3.1 Campus North).
We understand that this closure will be disruptive for some of our community and we apologise for this. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to make these important improvements. Thank you for bearing with us during this time.
